Week 44! A couple of days ago, I attended a workshop called “Moonlight with owls”. It was really nice, although a bit too dark to take pictures. But I got to see and hold a few owls, they’re such impressive and beautiful birds. Here’s a picture of Bean, a beautiful Bengal eagle-owl (Bubo bengalensis)

The Eurasian Eagle Owl (Bubo bubo) is the biggest owl in the world and a rare sight! I was lucky to see a pair of them, and even though the image quality is very poor (they were far, far away), I want to share two pictures of these beautiful birds.

The Little Owl (Athene noctua) is a small, very cute owl! Little Owl was the wisdom’s bird among the Greeks who engraved its effigy on some of their currencies. It was also Goddess Athena’s companion, from whom it got its generic name.
