I had been thinking of getting a new camera, something smaller and easy to take with on travel. Then I read this post about Canon PowerShot SX50 HS, and that was it. Camera ordered, delivered, and here’s shot 001! It’s a Eurasian Blackbird (it’s windy here, normally the head is not that flyffy) that lives and sings in my backyard. It’s not the best shot ever, but that’s not the camera’s fault. I’m really happy with it, can’t wait to get out and take more pictures!

  2. Congratulations on getting your new camera! Lovely background and bird. I prefer it when they are fluffed up a bit. They look more relaxed and charming!

    • Thanks Wendy! I agree on the fluffy part ๐Ÿ™‚ I got a few more shots that were sharper but I liked the pose and fluffy head in this one, so I posted it even if it’s a bit blurry.. Hopefully I’ll get a chance to take more shots soon!

  3. Good shot for the camera and the zoom. Long as you are happy with the pictures that’s all that matters.

  6. I really like my Canon Powershot SX130. I’m not camera inclined and this one is perfect for me. The blackbird posed admiralby for you.

  7. I just checked out the specs of your new camera. Wow. It has a 50x zoom that extends to the equivalent of a 1200mm lens. That’s not exactly what most people have in mind when they think of a point-and-shoot camera. I’m looking forward to seeing more great shots.

    • I know, 50x zoom!! I never had any zoom lens to my 450D, this opens up a whole new world of possibilities! ๐Ÿ™‚
