The ultimate sign of Spring: Tulips!
Photos taken in Amsterdam today
Probably the last tulip picture for this season. I took this a couple of weeks ago, and now the petals begin to fall off and the leaves begin to wither away..
Amsterdam’s blooming with tulips everywhere now! Here’s a picture I took in a busy crossing on my way home from work
f/3.5 – 0.6s – ISO 400 – 20mm – handheld
ps. If you’re in the area: Keukenhof opens today (until May 20).
ps2. I’m going to Sweden for a few days. See you next week!
Yesterday I came across a fold of Highland cattle in the forest. Aren’t they cute? They let me come close (I didn’t have any zoom lens with me) and posed very friendly.
Today was a wonderful autumn day with crisp air and sunlight. A day like this reminds me why autumn’s my favorite season! Happy to be outdoors again, I walked around in the forest the whole day. It was great.
“Never say there is nothing beautiful in the world anymore. There is always something to make you wonder in the shape of a tree, the trembling of a leaf.” - Albert Schweitzer
A Ringnecked Parakeet, well camouflaged among the still green leaves. (You guessed it- Backyard. Today. PowerShot.)
There are wild Ringnecked Parakeets (often mistaken for parrots) here in Amsterdam. The first birds were released pets that managed to survive the cold winter (in the mid 70’s), and the group has been growing ever since. Pretty, colorful birds that brighten up this already beautiful place! These pictures were taken (from my balcony) today with PowerShot.
