Two collages of bird photos, taken today along the Brettenpad nature path outside Amsterdam.

First some warblers: #1 Garden Warbler (Sylvia borin), #2 Common Whitethroat (Sylvia communis), #3Willow Warbler (Phylloscopus trochilus)


And here is: #1 European Goldfinch (Carduelis carduelis), #2 European Greenfinch (Chloris chloris), #3 Song Thrush (Turdus philomelos)

  2. Great shots of the warblers and the other birds. You are gradually adding the number of birds that you are finding in Holland. In the states the warblers tend to be secretive and high in the tree tops. I’ve only been able to get some not very good pics of 2-3 species during Fall migration when a few dropped in at my birdbath.

    • Thanks Yvonne! We have quite many warblers around here, but as you can see they often hide in trees and bushes. I’m trying to learn the sounds so I know which ones are around, even if I can’t see them. 🙂

    • Thanks John! I was especially happy to see the Goldfinch, they’re not very uncommon but it was my first. 🙂

    • Thanks Adrian! Sadly, my bird pictures leave a lot to wish for.. But I enjoy learning, and it’s great to have so many different kind of birds nearby. 🙂
