  2. Mr.sparrow looks mighty proud to be being a sparrow. In the states he is considered a pest and often referred to as a trash bird along with the starling. Those two birds were imported in the late 1800’s because some Shakespearen nuts wanted birds here that dear ole William had ever written about. Now these two species are very damaging to birds that are cavity nesters.

    • It’s a pity it turned out like that. Where I come from we don’t regard them as pest, they are quite nice to have around. They’ve found bones that are 2,800 years old so that’s how long they’ve been living here (at least).

  9. Wonderful Calee – great close-up.

    We had two babies hatched and raised in our grill (no cooking around here for a bit) and yesterday they took their first flights – what a great spectacle. Today I still have only seen one, hope the other is out and about.
