      • It was a good visit.
Would you believe the sun actually came out yesterday for 3 hours? We were all stunned.

        • Would you believe that it was over 30’C and sunny here when I was away, but since I came back we’ve had heavy rain, strong winds and less than 15’C.. Feels colder than Alaska!

  3. Calee, these are just great of the bear. The side of the moutain or the valley is simply beautiful with such wonderful color. I hope you were inside a vehicle when you took these photos.  πŸ™‚

  6. Not many of us get to see bears in the wild–that must have been awfully exciting for you. I checked to see if you had acquired a 600mm lens, but the fact that you hadn’t means that you were able to get pretty close to them. I can’t wait to see more of your shots from your newest adventure. These images are simply amazing.

    • Thanks so much, Mike! I have to stop complaining about my 70-300mm, it did serve me great in Denali! I got very close to a few bears, but most were far away. It was indeed amazing to see them! Never seen wild grizzly bears before, and I got to see ~20 of them there.

  8. What a great experience to watch that beautiful creature. How long were you there?

    September 11, 2013 at 7:16 PM

    • Yes, it was! πŸ™‚ I was in Alaska Thursday to Wednesday, spent 3 of those days in the national park.

      • That’s pretty special. I hope to get there some day.

  9. Looking forward to this series. Funny, for me in the Southern Hemisphere, I’ve never seen images of Alaska that didn’t include snow. πŸ™‚

    • I did see fresh snow on a few mountain tops, but luckily winter didn’t arrive during my stay so I could enjoy the autumn colours. πŸ™‚
