flycatcher

I’m back from holiday, well rested and camera full of pictures. πŸ™‚

Here’s a female European Pied Flycatcher, she had a busy day catching all kinds of bugs and feeding her little ones back in the birdhouse.

  2. Welcome back. If your camera is full of photos then I’m guessing you had a great time watching birds catch bugs and other other fun stuff! Nice captures.

  3. Wow. You turned into a professional bird photographer while on vacation. I seem to remember you complaining about your inability to capture good shots of birds. These are amazing (and of course I like the fact that there are lots of bugs too). My favorite is the the second one, but they all are remarkable. I am looking into my crystal ball and may yet see an SX50 in my future.

    • Thanks so much, Mike! Hardy a professional bird photographer; I stayed a couple of days at my parents’ summer house in the countryside, the birds there aren’t used to people and it was easy to get close to them. πŸ™‚ The SX50 is a perfect travel companion; small, light and easy to bring with everywhere.

  4. Lovely shots. With that proud look, it’s almost as if the little fellow(s) is/are posing with their prey… you know like men have these photos showing off the dead lion / big fish etc. πŸ™‚

  7. Love birds. And I really like the birdhouse which looks really appealing since it’s made out of a log.

  13. Hey Calee I love your Flycatcher phtographs. They are wonderful birds – we had a couple of families living in our yard and some BlueJays moved in and overwhelmed the Flycatchers – poor little guys, they didn’t have it in them to stand their ground. Love the first photograph!
