snowflake

I can’t recall ever seen one of these before, but perhaps that’s due to the fact that I didn’t pay much attention before I started photographing.. I thought it was a kind of tall snowdrop, but  after some research I found it’s called a Spring Snowflake. (Or maybe a Summer snowflake, I don’t know how to tell them apart.)

      • Check your out-of-focus backgrounds. They could have orbs in them. I don’t think this picture does, but it does have suspicious possibles

        • I’m sorry Sensei, but I just don’t see them! I’m orb blind. :s

          • Orbs will have a slightly more defined round shape. They are a possibility. If I see any in your pics, I’ll let you know.

    • Thanks so much, Roy! I like that too, and it happens a lot since I started photographing and paying attention to small flowers, insects, etc 🙂

      • It’s amazing what we can see when we just open our mind as well as our eyes. 🙂

        • Yes!! I’m almost embarrassed when I realize how much I’ve missed in the past, and probably missing right now as well. But better late than never! As long as I live, I’ll continue to learn 😉 One thing’s for sure: Photography helps me to see (and learn) things in a different way than I did before.

  10. Fantastic shot, love how the close-up revealed the most interesting touches of green on the petals. Don’t you feel like you’re discovering a secret world!

Nice shot! I was desperately trying to find them this year to take photographs. They seem to have vanished more and more during the last years, even the Botanical Gardens only had two very small and not really pretty patches.

    • Thanks Jule! It’s so strange, I’ve never seen them before but yesterday I stumbled over a whole field of these flowers. 🙂 I hope you find some too!
