Smile! The world is a beautiful place (^_^)

I wanted to capture birds in flight. Herons are a bit slow so I thought they’d be good to practice on. I sat by the pond and waited, but the herons didn’t feel like flying, they just sat there and stared back at me. For hours. Then, just when I’d decided to give up and head back home, a little Black-headed gull came and made several sweeps around the pond. So simple, so ordinary, so cooperative.ย  ๐Ÿ™‚

Happy weekend everyone!

  2. Iโ€™ve been lucky lately on catching birds in flightโ€ฆ.one here is a blue heron I got a few months back at a state park sanctuary; the other two are an osprey that was hanging around the house yesterdayโ€ฆthought you might like to see theseโ€ฆIโ€™m a pure amateur so, as Iโ€™ve said, Iโ€™ve been lucky!

  16. Great photo (wouldn’t everyone be able to fly like that? Free as a bird, how beautiful must that be). Patience is always rewarded. And I do like the H.C. saying you added there.
