We just went through a rainy few days – which was the tail end of the hurricane. It is finally not raining which is nice. But I really love pictures with the raindrops. It just shows the clarity of the picture and how you are able to zoom in close.

I used a macro lens (without zoom), and wish I’d had a tripod to get sharp and clear water drops! But I’m pretty pleased with this photo, even if it could be sharper.

Thanks for the details. I know very little about cameras. I just purchased a Canon PowerShot SX40 HS and have a lot to learn! A good winter hobby so I am ready for the summer.

I love the textures, colors, and droplets! Your ability to get so much in focus amazes me. We have lots of rain over here… I prefer it to snow!

So pretty with all of the various colors. i think some of those are small gourds and some possibly squash but no matter what they are called , I wish that I could say that I had grown these in my little fenced garden. Perahps where you live these are al referred to as pumpkins. I am fascinated with small or large gourds. They make a pretty arrangement in a large basket, blowl, or whatever. These can also be dried and then painted to suit your fancy to use as an ornament on the christmas tree. Also look good attached to a wreath. Some of htese might br edible. Were these at an outdoor market?
The rain drops add a lot to this grouping. Very nice shot Calee. Even if you do not think so.

Thanks so much, Yvonne! I think you’re right, I googled “gourds” (didn’t know that word before) and got pictures that look like this one. Yes, I took the picture at an outdoor market. 🙂 No idea where they grow, think they’re imported from somewhere.

Thanks Lyle! A bit tricky to hold the umbrella in an angle to protect the camera but not overshadowing the subjects, and trying not to get drenched. 😉

Thanks Mark! I think so too! But I just learned that they’re not pumpkins, in English they’re gourds apparently. (No idea why we call them pumpkins).
