I don’t know about you, but I need a break from the mushroom pictures.. Here’s a cute squirrel instead (You have to look closely, I don’t have a zoom lens..)

  1. The tree in this pic looks mighty. So pretty with some mossy green on the bark. The squirrel is a real looker. I love the red colored squirrels. Where I live there are only brown squirrels and they are just about everywhere. I never tire of observing their actions.

Where I grew up there were only red ones, they’re super cute 🙂 I was in Toronto two years ago and saw black ones for the first time (and loads of them!) Here in Amsterdam they’re not common at all..

Thank you! He was really funny to watch.. To cautious to get close, too curious to stay away! I really wish I had had a zoom lens, he kept running up and down the tree occasionally stopping to watch me watch him 🙂

  7. Funny squirrel. It looks like a rock climber looking attentively for a secure place for his next grip. 🙂

  9. That’s such a cute squirrel. Do you have flying squirrels? That one looks like our flying ones, only ours are light brown and are nocturnal.

No I’ve never seen any of those, not even on TV! In Sweden there are just squirrels like the one in the picture.

So cute. And from my observations those red ones are more shy than grey ones. I’d love to see black one myself, I’ve even had no idea they exist 🙂 I had also close meeting with squirrels recently. They came so close that I could take pictures with my 55mm lenses. Maybe you would like it: http://fotshot.wordpress.com/2012/10/04/i-have-time-just-give-me-a-nut/.

Thanks Mark! he’s cute, isn’t he? Wish I could’ve zoomed him in, but I kind of like the contrast to the big tree as well 🙂
