Lovely picture, I was thinking of spring today and wishing it would soon get here, as I stood out in the freezing cold…
February 21, 2013 at 5:56 PM
Thanks Bren! It’s freezing cold here as well, I hope the snowdrops will survive..
.. and soon be accompanied by crocuses and other spring flowers!

It is freezing here, and when I went out there was snow blowing in the air. Luckily it never turned to much but it is cold enough to snow.

Beautiful photo.

Thanks so much! Snowdrops is what we call these small flowers, the “real” name is Galanthus.

Wow, this is lovely. They look like suspended little white bulbs.

Thanks Gracie! They are really cute, small flowers. They haven’t opened yet, but soon… I hope

Wonderful photo Calee.
Love the name of these flowers. So easy to see why and how they were named.
February 21, 2013 at 7:14 PM
Thanks Alison! Indeed easy to see why, especially before they’ve opened up!

Beautiful shot. We’ve had really strange weather and I photographed snowdrops blooming at he end of December. I am going to have to return to that garden and see what’s blooming now. When does tulip season start for you?
February 22, 2013 at 12:31 AM
Thanks Mike!
Usually the tulips start blooming in April, but it could be earlier and later than that.. We’ll see! I already look forward to it.

I’m so happy to see this in Friday morning!
I have seen this kind of plant in the book many times but in actual life, none!
Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Sydney! It’s a very common flower over here, usually the first one to show up after the winter!
February 22, 2013 at 4:28 PM
Wow! Is a blessed land, indeed!

I love that they seem to pop up the very week that winter is about to drive me bonkers. You’ve captured a lovely image of the first green of spring!

Thanks Janet!
I was happy to see them too, I love winter but now I’m looking forward to spring..

Very nice! “First sign of spring?” Are you kidding? We’ve got at least 5 weeks before we start seeing signs of spring here…
February 22, 2013 at 5:12 PM
Thanks Kevin! It’s -5′C here now, not sure if they snowdrops will survive.. But spring is definitely on its way, it’s not pitch black anymore when I go to/from work.

Ahh yes, the light. The days are just starting to be a decent length here. I’m glad I’m not in Anchorage when the sun is up at 10am and down at 3pm. Looking forward to more of your spring-is-coming shots!

Thanks so much, Emily! These were the first ones I’ve seen this year, but I suspect they’ll pop up everywhere in just a few weeks. Yay for spring!
